Earlier known as SKS Chakshu foundation, Empowher India, is a non-profit organization that works in rural communities on the outskirts of Mumbai and runs two core programs focused on WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) and Women Self Help Groups (SHGs).
The organisation was undergoing a rebranding and restructuring and my brief was to up-skill their staff in photography storytelling and help create an image bank. For this, I designed and ran a series of workshops for the program staff aimed to build a practice of reporting their work from the field.
I also executed a two-day photoshoot to cover ongoing activities in their school, women group meetings, toilet construction and water filtration plant to showcase their depth of community intervention.
